Father Terry Keehan, Pastor

Father Terry Keehan became the third pastor of Holy Family Catholic Community in 2009. Fr. Terry spent most of his childhood in Arlington Heights and attended St. Viator High School. He attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha on a basketball scholarship and played in the NCAA Division II Tournament three of his four years.

Prior to entering the seminary in 1982, Fr. Terry earned a Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology and a Master of Arts in Organizational Communication. He was employed in sales for a pharmaceutical company and became very involved in the Young Adult programs at Old St. Pat’s Parish and was instrumental in forming the popular Theology on Tap.

After ordination, Fr. Terry worked in the Vocation Office of the Archdiocese of Chicago from 1986 until 1994. In 1994, he became Associate Pastor of Queen of Angels Parish in Lincoln Square. Then in 1999, Fr. Terry became the Pastor of St. Matthias and also became the Pastor of nearby Transfiguration Parish where he served until coming to Holy Family.

"I value Holy Familyʼs faith-based education which emphasizes values that are essential in forming future leaders, critical thinkers and compassionate Christians who put gospel values into action. I am very proud of the way that the Academy offers a curriculum of project-based learning that is innovative and engaging for our students."
