May is Invasive Species Awareness Month in Illinois. With that in mind, we will research common invasive species and their effects on the ecosystems in which they have taken up residence.

1. Make sure to have both of the sheets 68.1 and 68.2 so that you can fill them in. Morning class, I made new, editable
sheets if you want to use those. I have included copies below.
2. Follow along with the first video to complete sheet 68.1. If you get how to do it, you don't have to listen to the entire
video, just fill it in.
3. Once you have that completed, begin the second video with sheet 68.2. This one will take you through the process of
how to use the blood types to rule out or confirm parents for each of the children. Again, make sure to have the
sheet ready to fill in so can follow along. If you prefer to print out both sheets and hand write them, that is fine.
Turn the sheet in for a completion grade by tomorrow morning.

This is to be completed in class. Follow ALL steps listed.:
1. Put a journal heading for Activity 14 on the next clean page in your science journal.
2. As a table group, read the introduction on page B-11.
3. Read the caption to the left of the pictures on B-11 and study the pictures.
4. Write the challenge in your journal, if not done already.
5. You will need the table that you filled in for Activity 13 "Data on the Earring Material" (This may have been taped in your journal already.)

6. As a table group, turn to page B-12 and follow the procedure exactly as written. Do not skip steps. Take turns reading the steps.

9. Discuss and answer questions #1-4 with your table group.

In your journal, write the italicized vocabulary words with their definitions that are listed in procedure steps 3 and 4 (p. B-8 to B-9) of Activity 13. Due Monday.

For your final analysis question in Unit A, please answer question #2. You do not have to write a letter, just give your recommendation as to how to solve the garden problem. As the question states, make sure to cite evidence from the unit to support your recommendation. Also, make sure to include the trade-offs involved in your recommendation. Use the information in Activity 11 to help you make your recommendation. Make sure to include content vocabulary such as: organic matter, fertilizer, nutrients, soil composition, etc.
I will use rubric RE to evaluate your response.
Your answer should be typed and follow expectations for formatting. This assignment is due Thursday, October 3rd.
