Principal Kate O'Brien named School Hero

The Office of Catholic Schools announce the #SchoolHero program to recognize the principals, teachers, and staff who worked tirelessly to bring quality in-person and remote learning to families during this unprecedented time. We are so proud of Principal Kate O'Brien who was nominated by several families for this award.  Her award reads, in part:

Kate O’Brien is in her eighth year as the principal at Holy Family Catholic Academy. Kate began her career at
The Frances Xavier Warde School as a teacher in 1998 and then was named principal in 2013. Multiple parents nominated Kate, including the one below.

“I am a parent of a 3-year-old. Over the summer, she took videos weekly to keep parents informed about options, and the school formed an e-learning preschool pronto that my daughter absolutely LOVES. In one video, she dressed up in a face mask, shield, and coat to show preschoolers what the teachers may look like on the first day of school so they would not be scared,” said one of the parents who nominated her.
