hi Charlotte can you tell me what your class has done to help other people uh to be kind to be kind why do you think it's important to be kind to other people because um it be kind because other people because share the love to other people can make other people happy hi Aiden can you tell me how you you and your classmates have worked together to serve the community um we have made place mats for the people that don't have homes and come to only family and then what do you like most about a planning a Catholic School um church because father Terry um he says good things about Jesus and God I really like that hi Hudson can you tell me what service projects are activities have been most meaningful to you and why they made some cards for veterans and why is that meaningful to you um we tell them uh thank you for the service hi Bridget can you tell me your favorite thing you've learned at school I think my favorite thing I learned at school was all about North mythology hi Scarlett I know you're new to holy family this year in eighth grade what have you learned about compassion and service through your time at hfca um something I learned about compassion national service is that when we went to Brookdale to sing Christmas carols that when times are like hard for other people just spreading as simple as like way to spread Joy is just singing and spreading the joy question hi Brody I know you've been here at Holy Family since you've been you were 2 years old what is your favorite thing about tanning a Catholic School oh my favorite thing of attending Catholic school is learning God and how he created the whole world hi Avery if you were to tell someone who knew nothing about learning in an IB School and learning through inquiry units what would you tell them I would say that the teachers are very informative about teaching you how to listen better collaborate and communicate overall and you really build a good mindset that not many people were in able to grow up with hi Laura what does the phrase Minds to lead Hearts to serve mean to you personally Minds to lead to me means you get to explore different activities is based on our inquiry units and parts to serve means we go to a Catholic school and we get to learn how to serve God Jesus and others hi Mrs peperone can you just describe a recent service project that the middle school students participated in and the impact it had on the community our seventh graders participated the um greater Chicago Food deposit ettore mobile produce that is set up here at Holy Family a couple of times a year students go out and they help um the recipients take food from to their baskets to their cars and help um distribute food and help pack it up so they have the experience of helping people in our community um to feel welcomed to feel cared for and accepted within our community and the students bring joy to the members of our community that are in need but our students also feel a lot of Joy from that those members of the community and it's a very rewarding experience for all hi Mrs Worman can you tell us how does the fake based environment enhance your ability to and guide students I would say that a faith-based community helps me to mentor and guide students because all of their learning is grounded in the kindness compassion empathy and precepts of the church um helping them deal with everything they learn and every way they interact in based on those moral that moral compass and I think that's a really beautiful way way to create a safe and caring learning environment in which children can learn and be their best
