Preschool STEM Classes
“Life-long learning begins when educators cultivate curiosity, and there is no better place to start than in early childhood education.” Mrs. Kate O’Brien, Principal
Preschoolers are naturally curious about the world around them. Holy Family Catholic Academy channels this curiosity into problem-solving activities. Our Early Childhood STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) instruction is enhanced with monthly “in-house field trips” for our 3-and 4-year-old learners.
These hands-on/minds-on classes have many benefits, including:
- Developing critical thinking skills: Science helps children learn to think critically, solve problems, and explain their thinking.
-
Building a love of discovery: Science can help children develop a lifelong love of discovery and a sense of adventure.Promoting socio-emotional development: STEM learning can help children develop important skills like curiosity, collaboration, and persistence.Expanding vocabulary: Science helps children expand their vocabulary with scientific terms.Building confidence: Science gives children the confidence to ask questions and find answers.Making learning fun: Science can be fun and engaging, especially when taught using play-based learning or storytelling techniques.Minds to lead tomorrow. Hearts to serve today.
